When I studied at the MG school in 1964—1966 I got into designing posters. Back then, I participated in a UN day poster design competition for Nordic art students. I won the Finnish leg and was second in the Nordic competition. It was like adding fuel to the fire – I had a strong fire inside me. I was yearning for awards and I noticed that they are the path for a graphic designer to promote his career. I actively participated in Finnish and international competitions and I got altogether 67 awards from posters by 1987. After that, my interest was directed to more demanding assignments than posters. You can learn more about my awarded posters in the web-publication Posters.
